Before Faith had the opportunity to discuss their attire any further, in walked Roni, Katie and Eve. They ran down the aisle as if they were the only ones in the place. Hugs and kisses go around the table and when everyone sat down the waiter returned to get their drink orders. Eve ordered her usual beer. Katie ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri. Roni ordered a Whiskey Sour.

Trey winks and said, “You choose for us, Faith.”

“How about a Vodka Collins, Mr. Branson?” She realized that he wanted to see if they were starting their show for Roni yet. By ordering the Vodka Collins, he knew the game was starting now. They had a break, taking lunch of delicious pretzel bread sticks and apple pecan chicken salad. Now Faith was excited finally to be out with her girlfriends.

They decided to go shopping at the mall first to see the fun stuff they could buy. Katie decided to stop at a makeup store. She went straight for the eye shadows and picked up an electric blue color. She tried it on and of course, it looked amazing on her. Roni decided to pick out a darker smoky eye look. Eve went for the more subtle look and picked the neutral colors. Faith found a perfect matte with blues and greens. Next, they headed over to the lipsticks. They all picked out different shades of lip-gloss and checked out. Before they left the mall, they decided to stop at a shoe store. Faith found some amazing black heels that fit her perfectly. Roni found a pair of tall black boots while Eve and Katie started trying on shoes. Eve and Katie didn’t find anything they loved so everyone left the store after Roni and Faith paid for their shoes.

Trey was extremely bored, but he graciously waited for the girls when they came out of the shoe store. He suggested they go to a small little shop a few blocks away that had lingerie, dresses, and shoes. Faith whispered only to Trey, “That’s way too expensive for Katie and Roni.”

He leaned into her ear and kissed her, “I’m picking up the tab for this shopping trip, ladies, if you pick out something I love.”

They walked the few blocks to the shop. The air was stimulating and Faith couldn’t wait to find something that made Trey’s eyes pop out. It’s like old times again. A girls’ day out. It took Faith a long time to get used to one of Eve’s brothers always being with her. Even if Trey came along, it seemed strange to her. However, she always knew they were safer that way. Roni didn’t seem to mind at all. And Katie grew up with Eve having one of the guys tagging along.

They walked into the shop; it looked so expensive, but such a beautiful shop. They separated and start rummaging through everything. This shop was what all girls loved. It had something for each one of them. It even had Roni’s punk style. Katie pulled Faith aside and stuffs some garments in her hands.

She smiled, saying, “Put these on and come out. Trey will buy everything we want all day.” Faith felt the silk slipping through her fingers. She glanced down at the small, delicate lingerie. Boldly she went into the dressing room and slipped on a black, tight fitting, almost see through silk outfit. She added the garter belt and hose. She yelled for Katie and she came in holding a pair of heels.

She said, “To finish off the outfit, peacock feathers on the heels to match the peacock tattoo that flows on your shoulder.” Faith instantly became shy. She grabbed Katie and pulled her inside the room with her. Oh my God. Before she knew what was happening, Katie shoved her out of the dressing room door. She’s standing right in front of Trey. Neither one of them said anything. The black outfit fit her like a glove. She knew it looked beautiful on her. Faith started over to Trey, walking around him, sliding her hands through his hair. When she got in front of him, she turned her back to him and slid down in his lap. He was already hard and she felt his heat through his jeans. He took a hold of her hips and crazy Katie took her phone and put on a strip tease song. As Faith heard “Buttons” by The Pussycat Dolls playing and the part of “Loosen up my buttons babe” was playing, the only thing she could think of was…the show must go on! She rubbed her bottom deep into Trey as she leaned her head back, letting him kiss her neck. Then he grabbed her hair, pulling her face around to him and he started kissing her roughly on the lips.

Before Faith knew what he is doing, he flipped her over on his lap and slapped her bottom saying, “That’s for teasing me in front of your friends.” He continued, saying, “Wrap up anything these ladies want and here’s my card. Faith if you don’t go put some clothes on, I’m going to take you right here in front of your friends.” He slapped her again on the bottom, sending her scurrying into the dressing room. Katie came hurrying up with the most beautiful dress Faith had ever seen, a gorgeous off the shoulder, tight fitting dress that would hug her body perfectly. It’s short, it would fall half way down her thigh. It had a tee strap on the left shoulder and nothing on the right. Her tattoo would really show up and match this dress perfectly. Faith reached for the turquoise heels with the peacock feathers on them. Roni and Eve barged into the room too.

Roni said, “Oh my God, you’re perfect! You’re really a goddess just like Trey had said earlier.”

Faith looked at Eve and she smiles, saying, “He said you were an angel and he was waiting to see you fly.”

Roni said, “Wait until he sees this, Faith, he’ll eat you alive.”

All Faith could do was laugh because these girls were so fun to hang out with and be around. She knew she had to be careful around Roni but today she was acting like the old Roni. The one Faith grew up with.

Faith asked Roni, “Have you found anything you like here.”

“Yes, but you will probably hate it just like you did when we were in school.”

“Hurry and go put it on and let us see. I bet you’re beautiful.”

Roni came back in a few minutes with a black leather skirt that barely covered her hips. It had a belt that looked like a chain. She had a tight fitting tee top on bright red. The red wasn’t Roni’s style at all. But it looked good on her and she had put on bright red lipstick instead of the dark yucky color she always wore.

Faith smiled and told Roni, “You look beautiful, and I love the thigh boots.” She asked, “Is everyone ready to go now? I want to surprise Trey with the outfit as we walk out the door. So we need to have the cashier total everything up including the dress I am wearing. I’m wearing it and I suggest the rest of you do the same. I would hate to upstage you.” They ran out to take care of everything and to put their outfits on. Faith waited in the dressing room while they changed.

She took the time to experiment with the new eye shadow and it would go perfect with her dress. She added her usual red lipstick to finish off her face. Bending from the waist, she shook her hair. Then she threw her head back, letting it fall as it wanted. She studied herself in the mirror. She realized she was stronger and a more confident Faith. She’s back! It’d been a long and hard journey, but she’d found her way back. Now it’s time to put all the pieces of her life back together. This night would be the start of her new life and it would be epic. She knew it would. Oh, no she forgot to secure Eve’s weapon and put the rose pendant on her. She bets Ty was hot because she forgot! Faith called Eve in the dressing room to help her put the final changes on her outfit.

She must remembered because she jumped up saying, “I’ve got it, girls. She’ll be beautiful when I’m done with her.”

Katie laughed, saying, “Eve, you are hilarious! I straightened your eye makeup up for you or you would look like a raccoon.” Eve turned around, gave Katie the finger, and didn’t say a word as she came into the dressing room. As soon as Eve came in to put the rose pendant on her shoulder and activated it, she said, “Hello, Ty…better late than never.”

Ty said, “Wow, you girls are beautiful! Did you secure her gun?”

“I’m going to right now. Eve, raise your dress and I will snap it on.”

“Now you are ready.” Ty said.

“Do I look good enough to eat or what?”

Eve said, “Well, you’re not my type, Faith, but you’ll do for my crazy brother out there. He can’t wait to see you and we have a surprise
for you too.”

Eve had went to the shop across the street and bought Trey an outfit. Now Eve had Faith curious, she slowly walked out of the dressing room. Trey had his back to her. Oh. My. God. Faith knew she’d not seen him in leather pants before now. His butt was so muscular. You could see the ribbed muscles under the leather. His jacket wasn’t leather. It’s a casual sport jacket. It fit him perfectly as if it were made especially for Gods of men like him. He slowly turned and her knees went weak. He’s the perfect man. The most gorgeous body, she’d ever seen. Faith looked into his eyes and she saw her own reflection. They both were speechless.

The girls started chattering and they smiled at each other with that knowing glance. Faith and Trey were back. There were no words as to how they felt right now. They know they’re ready for anything this night brought them. Trey reached in his pocket and put something in Faith’s hand. She recognized her earpieces. She smiled and took them. Before she would’ve hated using them, but now they’re her tie to the man she loved. She slipped them in as he handed her another pair to give to Eve. She slipped her hand in Eve’s, holding it for a second then released the earpieces into her hand. She glanced at her smiling, sand said, “It’s time to party.”

Faith asked Trey, “Are we walking the few blocks to the hotel.”

He said, “No, here comes our ride now.”

She saw a white limo pulling up in front of them. He touched her face with his hand as he said, “I thought we could ride around town for a while, have a few drinks first, and get in the party mood.”

The girls were so excited they jumped in finding a comfortable spot and Faith waited for Trey to show her where he wanted her to sit. That’s so not like her, but she felt like a lady tonight. Trey’s lady.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

  Trey

Trey couldn’t take his eyes off Faith as she walked out of the dressing room. He wanted to fall down on one knee and ask her to marry him tonight. He realized he couldn’t hold back his feelings anymore for her and he didn’t think she wanted him to any longer. He contacted Ty and told him he wanted the limo for a few hours. They’d keep the girls with them for a while. Then Trey had a surprise for Faith he thought she’d love it. He poured champagne for everyone. Toasting the most beautiful ladies in Chicago.

They spent an hour laughing, talking, and drinking, and then Ty came over his earpiece saying, “It’s time to take the others to the bar. I’ll meet you and Faith at the airport.” Trey told the driver to take them to the bar. As they pulled up Faith started to get out.

He grabbed her hand, telling the others, “Faith and I will meet you in about two or three hours. Be careful and have fun ladies.” Faith glanced at him with a curious look on her face but didn’t say a word. They let the girls out and continued to the airport. Trey told her he had a special surprise for her tonight. They made it to the airport to find the helicopter waiting for them.

She had a surprised look on her face. “Where are we going, Trey?”

He leaned in and kissed her lightly, “Let’s get in and I’ll explain on the way.” Faith shook her head in agreement, climbing into the helicopter.

Trey leaned in smiling, “We’re going out for dinner on the top of Chicago Hearts Hotel. I wanted it to be only the two of us. It shouldn’t be long now we’re almost there.” Trey pointed down to the top of the hotel and candles light the rooftop, with a sign saying I love you, Faith. She covered her mouth with her hands and tears started to flow.

She turned to him smiling, “I love you too Trey,”

They landed the helicopter on the roof. They jumped out waving at Ty. The rooftop was beautiful, however, nothing compared to the beauty Trey saw in Faith. He walked over to her, straightening the strand of hair from her face, pulling her to him kissing her longingly. They slowly pull apart, he motioned for her to take a seat. The music started to play, and then the waiter came out to take their order.

Faith stared at him like he’s crazy. Trey told the waiter. “We’ll have the best champagne in the house. And surprise us with the best dishes in the house has to offer.” He nodded and left quietly. Trey stood up and reached out his hand to Faith, “Dance with me, Faith, and dance through the rest of our lives with me. I’m going to ask you to marry me. As soon as we finish this operation, Faith, and we know who murdered your parents. I’m going to marry you.”

She stared up at him. “When all of this craziness is over and we know who murdered my parents. We will know who murdered Faith Tallberg and her husband too. Then we’ll be able to put so much of our past behind us. I might take you up on that offer.”

Holding her close Treys heart melted. He would cherish this moment with her and he knew he’d never take love for granted again. They finished their dance and had a quiet dinner, enjoying each other’s company. All he could think about was making love to this gorgeous lady and making her his wife one day soon.

The waiter came back asking, “Do you want dessert now, sir?”

Trey quietly whispered “Yes, we’ll take some melted chocolate and whipped cream. Then we won’t need you anymore.” He smiled and left with that knowing look on his face.

Faith asked, “What did you order us for dessert?”

“It’s a surprise and here it comes now. Come over to the table with me.”

She left the edge of the roof top and came back to the table. The waiter had left, leaving only the chocolate and whipped cream. She glanced at the bowls and smiled. “Who’s first? Please say me.” The October air was a little chilly as Trey slowly undressed her, however, she didn’t seem to mind the night air. The chocolate tasted delicious on her now glistening skin. Trey laid Faith down on the table, and drizzled the chocolate to her now shivering body.

Faith gasped, “Oh my, Trey, it’s so hot! I love it, please don’t stop.” He took the cool whipped cream and dabbed the chocolate atop her breasts.

He leaned down, kissing her, “Now it’s time for my dessert.”

They were lost in the pleasures that only they could give one another. Uniting as one in a wild, fiery furnace, the heat waves kept coming. They finally collapsed in utter exhaustion. They laughed as Trey helped her off the table. She smiled happily.

“I guess I’ll take a rain check on my turn.” He held her close to him, feeling the overwhelming urge to take her away from all the drama and the job. To keep her safe from harm forever, however, he knew they both had to finish this operation. They had to put everyone away that had anything to do with the murder of her parents.

Somewhere in the distance, Trey heard the helicopter coming back. He exclaimed, “Faith, oh crap, we have to get our clothes on right now. Ty will be able to see us before we see him.”

Faith was already taking the wet towel the waiter brought with the chocolate and whipped cream trying to finish wiping the rest of the sticky, sweet mess off her body. Trey snatched his clothes up hurrying to put them on. He couldn’t believe how hard it was to put leather pants on when you’re wet with sweat. “Where is my purse? I need to fix my hair and put some fresh lipstick on.” He threw it to her as he put his shirt on.

She’s smiled at him saying, “Come here and let me fix your hair. I have your gel in my purse.” She slowly put the gel on her hands, rubbing them together. He knew she’s teasing him. He walked over and she ran her fingers through his hair. It felt so heavenly. They heard Ty coming closer now, he circled around and came back. They walked over to the edge of the roof waiting for Ty. They stood overlooking Chicago, the lights were beautiful and the stars were out tonight. The breeze blowing through their hair felt fantastic. Both of them hated to see Ty coming, but they knew they had a job to finish.

Trey held Faith close and whispered, “Are you sure you want Mr. Moore’s men to take you again.”

She quietly said, “No, I don’t want them to. However, we have to let them or this will never end. I wish I knew what they want from me. Mr. Moore went through everything in my parents’ storage unit when I was twelve years ol
d, piece by piece. Then he snatched my teddy bear my dad give me for my birthday that year right out of my arms and threw it in the unit too. He told me, ‘You’ll never need that again.’ I begged him to let me keep the teddy bear. He slapped me in the face saying, ‘When you turn 25 you can have it and everything else in here. It’s all worthless to me.’”

Trey grabbed her turning her around to face him. “You have a storage unit with your parents things in it and you never told any of us about it.”

She shook her arm loose from his grasp. “I forgot about it, besides, he tore everything to pieces looking for whatever he needs.” He stood silent thinking for a second.

“Oh my God, Faith, whatever he’s looking for is in that storage unit. We’ll send Ty to look through everything again, but we still have to follow thru with tonight. To make sure we get him this time.” Ty landed the helicopter and they climbed inside, they’re both ready to get this operation started now. At least they had a piece of the puzzle.

Trey explained everything to Ty as he took off. Ty asked Faith, “Do you have a key to the locker or do I need to do my magic?”

  She shook her head “no”.

“It’s okay, Faith. We will find the information Mr. Moore is looking for and maybe we’ll bring back your teddy bear too. You just remember to take care of yourself tonight if Mr. Moore gets his hands on you.” Then he took off his ring and put it on her thumb.
